Eurodesk welcomes the adoption of the new Erasmus+!

26 March 2021

The new Erasmus+ 2021-2027 is officially launched! It offers a wide range of opportunities for young people - from studying, volunteering and doing a traineeship or apprenticeship abroad to taking part in a youth exchange. DiscoverEU will integrate the programme.

With almost a doubled budget, Erasmus+ will offer a breath of fresh air for young people who are terribly impacted by the pandemic. It will also reinforce a sense of belonging thanks to the new Youth Participation Activities that support youth-driven local, national and transnational participation projects. These will enable young people to experience civic engagement, grasp European common values and fundamental rights, and develop digital competences and media literacy.

The key ambitions of Erasmus+ are to be inclusive, digital and green. The programme has a total financial envelope of €28.4 billion. It will fund learning mobility and cross-border cooperation projects for 10 million Europeans of all ages and all backgrounds!
