Dear colleagues and friends,
Another year is ending, another unusual year, another busy year.
The Eurodesk network has been quite active this year with the ambition to be there to support young people despite the difficult context. It adopted its 6-year strategy (2022-2027), in order to increase its impact and strengthen its role in the youth (information) field throughout Europe.
This strategy is written in a very particular context, in which young people have been particularly impacted. The pandemic jeopardised their socio-economic integration, their mental health and well-being but also influenced their plans and dreams. Our Eurodesk Youth Information Survey will provide evidence on this impact when it comes to youth information and mobility.
Despite difficulties related to the lack of funding or recognition in certain countries, youth information has a responsibility in addressing the large societal challenges ahead of us. Eurodesk is therefore proud to have contributed to its recognition with the adoption of YouthInfoComp, with its partner ERYICA.
Eurodesk’s vision aims to support the development of strong national and European youth information services, to build bridges between Europe and its young citizens, and to create a community of actors in the youth sector.
The European Year of Youth will be an opportunity to do more and better together, building on our diverse national situations and on what unites us. Eurodesk is launching a pool of young journalists, a new Podcast Series and will develop resources to support its network in reaching out and engaging young people!
Enjoy the well deserved holidays, stay optimistic and see you in 2022!
Audrey Frith,
Director of Eurodesk
