Time to Move is back celebrating its 10th Anniversary with hundreds of events for young people.

01 October 2024

Under the slogan “Discover ways to explore Europe”, the Eurodesk campaign Time to Move will run in October 2024, all over Europe with around one thousand events and activities to connect young people to international mobility opportunities throughout Europe.

Eurodesk, the leading European youth information network, is pleased to announce the launch of its annual flagship campaign, Time to Move. The campaign aims to connect young people to the 3000 Eurodesk information points available across Europe through non-formal activities.

During the month of October, the Eurodesk network will organise hundreds of informational events across Europe and beyond to reach young people. These events, along with a digital campaign consisting of webinars, online challenges, contests, and games, will inform young people about the various ways they can explore Europe and get support, including financial support, for their mobility projects.

"Not many young people know that there are thousands of programmes available for them to learn, volunteer or work abroad. Time to Move is a way to reach them and tell them that programmes, such as the Erasmus+ or the European Solidarity Corps are also for them" said Audrey Frith, Eurodesk Director. "We want to connect young people to our information points across Europe, including those in remote areas and regions where Eurodesk doesn't have a physical presence yet."

The main target groups for the campaign include young people from rural areas who may not know about learning mobility programmes, as well as NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) who could benefit from participating in a learning experience abroad to improve their situation.

This edition is very special as Eurodesk celebrates the 10th anniversary of the campaign, a clear sign of our ongoing commitment to empowering young people across Europe.

"Over the past decade, we've bridged gaps, created new opportunities for young people who could not imagine it was possible for them, and fostered a sense of unity among young people from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. As we look to the future, our mission remains clear: to ensure that every young person, regardless of their location, has access to life-changing programmes like Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps” said Pavlina Macounova, Eurodesk President.

This year's campaign will have thematic focuses on topics very important for young Europeans, such as:

  • Including volunteering and solidarity
  • Youth participation & democracy
  • Boosting employability and gaining professional experience
  • Active citizenship and sustainability
  • Spreading information on mental health and culture shock
  • Learning, exploring Europe & international friendships

Young people can find nearby activities thanks to the interactive map that will help them to search the thousands of events expected to take place in more than 30 countries. In addition to these local events, online activities will be accessible to all with our Eurodesk's "Talkative Thursdays", a 4-series of live webinars taking place every Thursday during October,, which will feature former participants of European mobility programmes.

As every year, we invite all youth to get competitive with the Time to Move contests! Throughout September and October, we are running two online challenges - a social media challenge and a T-shirt design contest. The results of these competitions will be used for future editions of the campaign, giving a voice and space to young people in the design of the campaign. More information on how to participate is available on the website!

It is very important to encourage people to get involved by using #TimeToMove2024 and uploading photos on social media channels.
