Explore the unique flavours and traditions of Europe

19 March 2025

The  "Tasty Europe" begins! - a culinary adventure that connects young people across the continent through the shared language of food.

As part of the Eurodesk 35th anniversary, Eurodesk launches the pan-European ‘Tasty Europe’ event. Cuisine is a window into a culture's soul, revealing stories, customs, and perspectives. It is a powerful tool for building bridges and fostering understanding. For Eurodesk, it serves as an engaging way to connect young people with European opportunities, inviting them to discover Europe through its diverse culinary landscape.

This international celebration was inspired by the success of Estonia's Tasty Europe event during the 2024 European Youth Week, where 102 young people from 16 youth centres explored European cultures through cooking. Beyond the recipes, Tasty Europe is about sharing stories. Each dish serves as a gateway for discussions about travel, volunteering, and educational opportunities abroad, highlighting Eurodesk's role in connecting young people with these experiences.

How does it work?

This event combines the excitement of cultural exchange with the joy of hands-on cooking. Participating hosts are assigned a three-course menu from another European country, which will then be prepared with young people in an exciting event. This immersive experience encourages collaboration, sparks conversations about international mobility, and promotes intercultural understanding.

To spark curiosity and culinary exchange, we organiszed a country lottery, pairing them randomly to share and experience Europe's diverse flavours!
