Eurodesk Brussels Link is seeking a web editor intern with great writing skills, both for print and digital environments. 

With a network of national coordinators connected to over 4000 local information providers and Eurodesk centres in 36 European countries, Eurodesk is the main source of information on European policies and opportunities for young people and those who work with them. Eurodesk Brussels Link coordinates the activities of the network, providing various information tools and resources, and managing several digital platforms and social media channels. The network also updates and manages content on the European Youth Portal.

Description of the tasks

  • The intern will assist with tasks related to the European Youth Portal, such as publishing news items, answering enquiries, managing social media communication and disseminating information via newsletters. This internship is an excellent opportunity to participate in all stages of content creation from inception to publishing and developing new skills and working methods.
  • Answers enquiries from young people (European Youth Portal helpdesk)
  • Writes/edits content for young people and those working with them on the Eurodesk websites, newsletters and the European Youth Portal (articles, news and events, national pages)
  • Writes/edits brochures, leaflets and other communication materials for various projects
  • Helps update the knowledge databases (occasionally updating AI datasets)
  • Assists in measuring the impact of Eurodesk's information work
  • Supports network activities and European-level meetings and events when relevant
  • Participates in activities related to the Communications Team (social media)
  • Other duties as directed by the Eurodesk director and other supervising staff members.
  • The traineeship is on a full-time basis in line with the regular working hours of Eurodesk Brussels Link (38h/week).

Profile of the Trainee

  • An academic background in journalism, communication or equivalent is requested.
  • Detail-oriented, energetic, resourceful, and self-motivated
  • Previous experience of working in NGOs, volunteering activities, and/or participation in (international) youth activities is a plus
  • Strong interest in youth-related issues
  • Language Skills: Excellent writing/editing skills in English with an eye for details
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of social media platforms is a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus
