OUR PRIORITIES

The Eurodesk Strategy (2022-2027) sets long-term orientations for the Eurodesk Network. It aims to increase our social impact and strengthen our role in the youth (information) field throughout Europe.

Eurodesk aims to support the development of strong national and European youth information services, build bridges between Europe and its young citizens, and create a community of youth sector actors.

INCLUSIVE ACCESS TO INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Eurodesk wants every young person to know that international opportunities are also for them and that measures are in place to ensure their fair participation. For this, Eurodesk relies on an  extensive network of over 4,000 local multipliers and ambassadors and develops projects for both them and young people.

The challenge of inclusion is as complex as diversity is rich. That is why we aim to take a broad approach to the topic of inclusion.

YOUTH PARTICIPATION AND DEMOCRACY

Youth information is essential to ensure access to opportunities and to make informed decisions, as there is no participation without information. This is at the heart of Eurodesk’s mission as we believe that the involvement of young people is key to promoting active citizenship, as well as ensuring our services are relevant.

Eurodesk runs specific campaigns to engage young people in European debates, particularly during the European elections, and campaigns such as the European Youth Week and European Youth Event organised by EU institutions.

DIGITAL OUTREACH AND MEDIA LITERACY

From the beginning, Eurodesk has put a strong emphasis on digitalisation. It was
one of the first European associations to have a website and launched its first
programme database even before such information management systems became available.

Today, Eurodesk continues to invest in digital solutions and support a smart and ethical integration of AI-based solutions into youth information services. For that, it carries out regular training activities and provides guidelines to its network. It also conducts research, including through the Youth Information Survey on youth information behaviours.

MENTAL HEALTH

Young people’s mental health struggles is a key challenge of our time and an obstacle to their mobility participation. We believe that learning to manage our emotions and those of those around us is an essential part of every individual’s personal growth. It fosters understanding and confidence in oneself and one’s environment, preparing young people to live in diversity, cope with changes. We believe that participating in international opportunities is a unique way to enhance young people’s mental health, allowing them to feel valued and connected to a community.

RECOGNITION OF YOUTH INFORMATION

The delivery of youth information services and its recognition is very diverse in Europe, youth information workers share specific competences and a common ambition to support and empower youth. Eurodesk aims to contribute to the recognition of youth information work, within the youth work field in line with the needs of youth workers and the policy ambitions of the European Youth Work Agenda.
