Eurodesk is a European youth information network created in 1990 to help young people experience the world and become active citizens. It also runs various information portals, including the European Youth Portal, and social media channels to reach young people.
By being present where young people are! We count on a network of 38 Eurodesk Centres connected to over 4000 local information providers in 36 European countries (see Eurodesk Map).
Eurodesk Brussels Link undertakes the overall coordination of the network. Each National Eurodesk then federates its network of multipliers and ambassadors, which are regional or local organisations working with young people, delivering youth information, and advising them on mobility opportunities.
Eurodesk is funded through the Erasmus+ programme as a policy support network of the EU Youth Strategy.

In the late 1980s, accessing information about European opportunities was very hard. Eurodesk began life in March 1990 as a small regional helpdesk in Edinburgh.Â
The idea was simple: gather all relevant European information in one place and present it in a way that is friendly and accessible to young people. The initiative experienced immediate success, with demand increasing rapidly over a short period. That’s how it all started! Today, Eurodesk operates in 36 countries.
It serves as the coordination office for the network, runs large campaigns, such as Time to Move, and supports everyone in the network with tools, information, and training. It also works with the European Commission to run the European Youth Portal and its helpdesk.
It is the elected board of Eurodesk. With a two-year mandate, it sets the network’s direction, supervises the main team in Brussels, and represents the network towards its partners.

In daily contact with young people, they support Eurodesk’s outreach strategy. Our multipliers and ambassadors include youth information centres, youth organisations, educational institutions, and local governments. They offer free-of-charge services to young people and those supporting them.
