Youth Goals in focus: Eurodesk at the EU Youth Conference in Bucharest

.

Eurodesk Brussels Link Director, Audrey Frith, attended the EU Youth Conference held in Bucharest, Romania on 25-28 March 2019. The conference kicked off the new Youth Dialogue cycle that aims to foster an exchange between policy-makers and young Europeans, with a view to engaging them on youth relevant policy topics.

The 2019-2020 cycle is designed around the title of ‘Creating Opportunities for Youth’. It builds on the outcomes of the former Cycle that resulted in the adoption of 11 Youth Goals. Each presidency will put light on one of the goals.

The European Union Youth Conference in Bucharest aimed at making the link between the EU Youth Dialogue and the objectives set by EU Youth Strategy (2019-2027) by tackling the goal number seven “Quality Employment for All”.

Different panels and workshops were held to share insights on how to improve access to decent work for all young Europeans. Participants were young people and ministerial delegates from all EU countries, and representatives of EU institutions and EU youth NGOs. The outcomes will feed the consultations to take place as part of the Youth Dialogue cycle.
