Each year, the Eurodesk Awards recognise the efforts of Eurodesk’s local multipliers, who assist young individuals in exploring and taking advantage of the numerous opportunities available in Europe. In 2023, a total of 47 projects from 15 countries competed for 4 prizes.
Following the tradition, the jury panel, comprising representatives from various organisations, selected three winners. The jury for 2023 consisted of the following individuals:
- Lorena Baric Eurodesk President
- Rosa D´Amato, Member of the European Parliament
- Mathieu Orphanides, Policy Officer, DG EAC, European Commission
- Nikolina Đurić, Communication Manager at the Erasmus Student Network
- Nicholas Kujala, Board Member at the European Youth Forum
The first winner, identified as the ‘Empowering Young People’ category winner was the Inclusion Call – Music and Urban Art Towards the European Capital of Culture 2025 by Youth Information Centre/Eurodesk of the Municipality Gorizia, Italy. The project was co-financed by the Department for Youth Policies and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and it aimed to promote local actions encouraging the active participation of youth people.
Eurodesk Treasure Hunt by Info Zone, Croatia was named the winner of the ‘Thinking Out of the Box’ category. The project aimed to strengthen cooperation and exchange of resources among multipliers and to enable participants to get to know the cities they live in and learn about opportunities for mobility in a fun way.
The project named the winner of the ‘Adapting to Changing Realities’ was the European Youth Program: Inclusion & Diversity by Las Niñas Del Tul Association, Spain. It provided information and opportunities through European programmes to young people with fewer opportunities, such as young people deprived of their liberty (in prison) and unaccompanied foreign young people.
The Eurodesk Network named the Eurolibrary by Xeracion, Spain the Eurodesk Network Prize. Eurolibrary was an original international initiative in which 21 emerging creatives from 4 European countries participated. The project developed human libraries, created stands in central squares, held workshops with schools and planted trees with the local community. All with the mission of sharing and collecting travel experiences while promoting opportunities for international youth mobility.
