Are you good at coordinating editorial projects and writing? Eurodesk Brussels Link is looking for a new team member to join! 

The Editorial Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, editing and publishing Eurodesk’s editorial and institutional content across print and web channels. The role ensures that brochures, guides, training materials, articles, webpages and other publications are delivered on time, aligned with organisational priorities and brand, and presented in a consistent, accessible and user-friendly way. The position focuses on the full editorial workflow and quality checks.

Main duties and responsibilities

Editorial work and coordination
  • Write news, articles, web content (e.g. EYP), materials (brochures, guides, reports), training materials, and institutional documentations, as well as datasets for Eurodesk AI solutions (FAQs, etc.).
  • Coordinate the Eurodesk editorial calendar and workflows, including collecting content inputs from colleagues, contributors, and external partners, and ensuring timely follow-up on deadlines and approvals (e.g. Annual Overview, Eurodesk webinars).
  • Coordinate editorial and research projects with external experts and partners, including the Youth Info Survey.
  • Support the planning and implementation of revisions, reprints, and archiving of editorial materials.
  • Liaise with the graphic design team to ensure smooth and timely production of print and web materials.
Copywriting and proofreading
  • Draft and edit content in clear, audience-appropriate English, ensuring consistency with Eurodesk’s editorial guidelines, brand identity, and accessibility standards.
  • Proofread and review content for factual accuracy, structure, grammar, readability, and coherence, in collaboration with project leads (e.g. Eurodesk Awards applications and articles for the European Youth Portal), ensuring materials are suitable for adaptation and use at the national level.
  • Advise and train colleagues and national coordinators on the Eurodesk editorial line, and facilitate adaptation of content across countries.
Web publishing
  • Upload, format, and publish content on the Eurodesk websites (WordPress), ensuring consistency with editorial and accessibility standards, as well as SEO and GEO requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain content quality by identifying and correcting broken links, outdated information, and formatting issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external service providers to improve website usability, content development, and publication processes.
  • Prepare and edit Eurodesk newsletters for different audiences (e.g., YouthLetter, Stakeholder Newsletter, internal newsletters) with support from the information manager.

  • Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills are a must.
  • Strong media and information literacy, including a smart use of AI.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content for young people and professionals across online and offline formats.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle deadlines and manage multiple workflows effectively.
  • Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing reliable, rights-based, and youth-centred information.
  • Experience in publishing and maintaining content in a CMS. 
  • Familiarity with accessibility, web usability, metadata and content structure principles. Understanding of SEO and GEO is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and experts.
  • Experience in training or supporting colleagues on editorial standards and processes.
  • Basic understanding of design and layout workflows for print and digital publications.
  • Knowledge of EU structures, youth policies and programmes is an asset.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in journalism, editorial coordination, content management, publishing, communications or a similar role.
  • Experience with accessibility-oriented content editing is a plus.
  • Experience with multilingual or international environments is an asset.

Conditions

  • Permanent full-time contract (38h/week).
  • Work is office-based. The applicant shall be able to relocate to Brussels and work in an international environment (English is the working language).
  • The monthly gross salary is between 2.500 EUR and 3,500 EUR, depending on experience. 
  • Benefits include a 13th month, 20 legal + 8 extra-legal holidays, lunch vouchers (10 EUR), local transport contribution, teleworking benefits (150 EUR) and an insurance plan. 
  • This role requires occasional travel to events across Europe. 
  • A valid work permit for Belgium is required.
