Eurodesk at the EU Youth Conference in Tallinn

.

Eurodesk Director, Audrey Frith, participated in the EU Youth Conference that took place in Tallinn, Estonia, on 23-26 October 2017. Organised by the Estonian Presidency of the EU, it brought together 240 delegates to explore “Youth in Europe: What’s Next?”.

The Conference kicked off the 6th cycle of the Structured Dialogue, with an open inquiry. The 4-day conference, co-created with its participants, provided a space for exploring what matters to young people today / tomorrow and lay a foundation for the upcoming consultation process.

Different topics were proposed by participants such as mental health, inclusion, citizenship and participation, gender equality and employment. Groups were self-organised and started working on key challenges to be tackled.

Eurodesk participated in a workshop on mobility. Participants highlighted the need to ensure a better accessibility to mobility opportunities for all, especially those with fewer opportunities. The importance of informing young people about the various opportunities offered (e.g. youth exchanges, EVS), beyond Erasmus / university mobility, was stressed.
