JOIN THE 2027 POOL OF YOUNG JOURNALISTS IN EUROPE

We are looking for participants for the 2027 edition of the Pool of Young Journalists in Europe!

• Do you have great storytelling skills?
• Are you interested in European and global issues? 
• Do you want to report on what matters to young people in Europe today? 

If you answer yes to those three questions, we are looking for you!

Eurodesk and the European Commission are inviting you to put your journalistic skills into practice and report on issues that matter to young people in Europe today. Be part of the Pool of Young Journalists in Europe and make your voice heard by producing different kinds of content (writing, pictures, podcasting, videos…). The content produced by the Pool will be highlighted on the European Youth Portal and on Eurodesk social media channels. 

This is a chance to focus on various topics that matter to young people in Europe from a personal and authentic perspective. You will have the freedom to develop content on topics that interest you. You can use various storytelling formats such as articles, videos, photos and podcasts.

Eligibility criteria

• 18 to 30 years old (you must be at least 18 years old by 1 January 2027).
• Resident in one of the eligible Eurodesk countries for 2027 (France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Ireland, Denmark, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Cyprus). At least one person per country will be selected.

Eligible countries for the next years:

• 2028: Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Belgium, Greece, Austria, Serbia, Norway, Finland, North Macedonia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Moldova (TBC)
• 2029: Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Croatia, Slovenia, Georgia, Latvia, Malta, Iceland.

• Available for a one-year period (until the end of 2027).
• Be willing to travel one to three times during that period.
• Available to attend physical meetings in Brussels in mid-February 2027 and at the end of August/beginning of September 2027, as well as monthly online editorial meetings and training sessions. 
• Able to write and communicate in English.
• Agree to the monthly content goals (publish at least three pieces of content, individually or in collaboration with other young journalists). 
• How will the pool work?
• Meetings and training of the pool in February 2027 and August/September 2027 (exact dates to be confirmed).
• Ongoing access to webinars with specialists.
• Participation in online editorial meetings and the opportunity to produce three pieces of content (articles/videos/podcasts/other formats – individually or in collaboration with other young journalists) per month.
• Possibility of travelling one to three times during the year to participate in international events. 
• Ongoing evaluation and feedback from Eurodesk Brussels Link and the experts involved. 
• The young journalists will work on a voluntary basis.
