On 9 and 10 June, the Eurodesk Executive Committee (EEC) met at the Eurodesk Brussels Link office to discuss the network’s current and future activities and priorities.
The agenda was packed with exciting discussions, including planning the 2027 Eurodesk Awards, the next Autumn Network Meeting in Germany, the expansion of DiscoverEU to six new countries for which Eurodesk will ensure the helpdesk, and shaping our new Learning and Development Plan.
Eurodesk had the honour to welcome Glenn Micallef, the EU Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, for a fruitful and open dialogue on the future EU Youth Strategy. We shared views on the need to create bridges between the EU and young people in their local communities. This concern echoed the Eurodesk position, highlighting the crucial role of youth information services and our local multipliers in raising awareness and supporting young people in their European journey. In many countries, youth (information) work is still not recognised, a challenge the Commissioner aims to tackle, in line with the outcomes of the European Youth Work Agenda.
