The European Youth Portal
Launched in 2004 with the support of Eurodesk, the European Youth Portal (EYP) is an initiative of the European Commission to provide young people with an overview of the opportunities that exist for them to be mobile and have a voice in an ever-changing Europe.
The European Youth Portal is a multilingual platform offering European and national information and opportunities that are of interest to young people in 29 languages. It addresses young people, but also other stakeholders working in the field of youth, such as youth organisations, youth workers or policymakers.
The Eurodesk network publishes events, and testimonials from young people, answers young people’s enquiries via the Portal and manages the Pool of Young Journalists in Europe.
The European Youth Week
The European Youth Week is held every two years all over Europe to celebrate and promote youth engagement, participation and active citizenship all over Europe and beyond. It consists of a broad range of events and activities organised in all 33 countries participating in Erasmus+, under the coordination of the Erasmus+ National Agencies. The next edition is planned to take place in 2026.
Eurodesk cooperates very closely with the National Agencies in proposing and organising activities during the European Youth Week. In 2024, the Week stressed the topics of democracy and participation, especially concerning the 2024 European Elections.
The Pool of Young Journalists in Europe
The Pool of Young Journalists in Europe was first created in the frame of the 2022 European Year of Youth with the aim of involving young people in creating content on the European Youth Portal.
These young journalists choose the topics they want to cover and can either create podcasts, articles, or videos.
After the success of the first 2 editions, this 3rd pool brings together 9 talented young journalists selected from all over Europe who will develop their skills and address youth in Europe with their views on all sorts of interesting topics.
